This artwork was inspired by a poem I made, Apollo, the Sun God in Classic Greek Mythology and a true story of mine.

"Today was an intense day; I experienced powerful emotions.

I smiled, I cried, I lay naked under the sun, I rearranged my bed, and I spoke to myself.

Moreover, I received a great gift from life. I know that I am no longer the same as I was yesterday.

Today, I am a woman; within me, I have both shelter and refuge. I know how to heal my own wounds with herbs, words, art, and enchantments.

Today, I know how to call upon the gods of the sun, the moon, war, and nature. I know how to call upon the orixás, the teas, and the ishalás of the soul and the winds.

Now, I know how to howl courageously into the darkness. I can fly over the flames of the sun without being burned. I access places that have never been seen before. I materialize universes that once existed only in imagination.

I know who I am. I stand firmly and assertively on the ground, but at the same time, I know how to fly like no one else. And in the beautiful and magical moments I have in the sky, I also have the certainty that when I need the earth, it will be beneath my feet.

I walk without fear. I fly without haste. Today, I made friends with time."
